It can act as a router, switch, ftp server, smb share, web server, and more. It can support up to 4 IDE drive of up to 500GB each and raid 0, 0+1, 5, and jbod. The unit you will be receiving does not have any drives. It works perfectly however the unit does have scratches on the sides and back.
