This was actually my 3rd OM-2000. My photo taking is mostly landscapes I take on vacation. My pictures are too important to leave to some electronic metering to determine the exposure. With this camera, I set the exact exposure to saturate the colors. The shutter is completely manual, there are no batteries to run down to prevent taking a picture. The meter is battery controlled, there is center weighted metering and spot metering mode. I mostly use spot meter mode and take a reading on what is the most important part of the composed shot and base my final exposure on that reading. The camera is extremely lightweight, especially with the 35-70 plastic body lense that is supplied. Of course any lense designed for an Olympus SLR is compatible. It comes with an eveready case and thin strap. Invest in a wider strap, and forget the case, it only makes it cumbersome. A small camera bag with extra lenses and some cleaning supplies, extra film would be a good additional investment. Overall, if you take pride in your photos, and want to impress your friends who use "automatic" type cameras, the OM-2000 is a very good reasonable investment in your photography. You won't be disappointed.Read full review
