Very happy with this Camcorder. The last camcorder I purchased was about twelve years old so it was time. This is my first Hi Definition camera and the video looks great. Little features such as the fact that it powers on when I swing open the display mean a lot. I never thought I would use the on board projector but it has come in handy a few times. Very good in low light conditions. I paid $1263, which included shipping and I'm not sure how it could sell for such a low price. I am hoping that there is no problem with the warranty should I need a repair.
I wanted a camera for a 5-month journey in India and Nepal. For this amount of time, I needed a camera that accepted memory cards. For some of the bumpy roads I'd be shooting from I wanted a good steady shot system. Being able to project the video on the wall means I can show the videos to a few people at a time in primitive settings. I bought a few extra batteries and memory cards and I'm happy as a clam. Transferrring the video to the laptop is easier using the memory cards rather than using the USB... but I didn't read the instructions (I like intuitive units and written instructions slow me down. I'll learn sooner or later. Again, I'm happy as a clam with this camera.
Excellent camcorder, floating head for steady shots.
