Light & small, this HC-V110 is a one-generation-old palmcorder by now, superseded in image quality, features, & ease of use by the Panasonic HC-V180, HC-W580k, etc. from Panasonic that feature 50x optical zoom & a variety of other improvements. It's handy to use as a second camera to capture a wide angle scene while another camera does the detail work (I use it to follow the moon up the sky while a camera with stronger zoom does the high-telephoto zoom shots). Battery life is excellent, portability is excellent. Image quality is only so-so compared to more recent cameras but for my purposes is good enough (sports, moonrises, long landscape shots of the sea). Some fuzziness shows up in the video when zoomed in on the moon using "intelligent zoom," making me think that this version of the zoom lens and its supporting image processing system are not as evolved as the superior versions that appear in later models. User interface is via a rocker switch outboard of the LCD, which is not bad though I find the later models' LCD touchscreens to be a little easier to use. All in all? Handy little sports camera with enough telephoto power and features to give good results if you don't mind a little less than the best image quality out there. Need prettier images? Go to a more recent Panasonic camcorder or a competitor with similar zoom range. Read full review

Will not format memory cards. Finally formatted one and it would not record video. Screen freezes. On/off button will not turn camera off. . . .

Great camera for simple video in HD. Also, great price! Don't need to be a videographer. Can edit in Movie Maker or other simple editing software. Highly recommend if doing amateur video recording.
