I bought this monitor fom eBay and yes it is used and yes it is a few years old though those idiots saying it doesn't work after a while the screen goes out whatever they must of dropped it and blamed the product for themselves. Don't you listen to them this is one great monitor. I noticed going from a CRT 21" to this one the picture is so much better and crisper and I have never seen color come out so well on a computer screen as this in my home, thank you!
I prefer dual 4:3 monitors over one 16:9 (or even 2 16:9s). The reason being is that you have to go fairly large with a widescreen to recover vertical real estate. I can get 1024 vertical resolution on a 19" 4:3 monitor when nearly 25" would be required to get the same vertical resolution from a a 16:9 setup. Not to mention that the Viewsonic provides near pro quality color reproduction for a fraction of the cost.
My only dislike is for reasons I dont know I cant read some type now online. The fonts seem to be so small and run together.Maybe it is in my settings. But I do Love the monitor overall.VERY Easy to change the size and other settings right on the monitor.Takes up very little space on desk.
I've had my VA912b for a year and a half- still love it. Looking to buy another one and run duals. No dead pixels yet, great brightness. I've never hooked up the speakers- so I can't say how good/bad they are.
This was just an okay purchase. The monitor works okay, but the Auto Image Adjust and Manual Image Adjust cannot be selected. I’ve installed the latest driver, but still no good. Other than that, it works fine.
