Love this Camcorder. Excellent HD video quality with native 8 megapixel photos. Not to mention it's small size which will be great when I travel to Jordan & Egypt. No more sill camera AND video camera AND all its adaptors with plugin cords, batteries or cards. I was originally going to get The Sony with the internal 120 gig hard drive since I thought 32 gig was small on the Canon but I've shot video/photos on various occasions (Zoo, Family, Islands) and only have used 9 gigs. If you have ever transfered video, I can't imagine the time it would take to convert 100 gigs of video at one time. The battery is small so I got the 827 extended battery & the image stabilization needs to be better. PROS are: 24p Video, 8 megapixel stills, excellent controls/navigation,compact camcorder. CONS are: Battery too small, image stabilization questionable.Read full review
I've been ready for an HD camera for a while now - and as soon as I had this camera in my hands I fell in love. The Vixia HF S10 is a brilliant little package, compact yet sturdy, feels great, with a variety of recording options. I have had nothing but excellent results with my video so far, although the low light recording is not great - but acceptable. I am a Final Cut user, and this camera integrates nicely with FC Studio 2. Log and transfer is extremely easy. I love the quality of still image this camera produces, very surprising for a camcorder. Battery life could be better, but extra packs always on order with most photographers/videographers. I found a good deal on the S10, otherwise an S100 would have been perfectly fine.
This thing takes awesome video and pictures. Small and lightweight, you can take it almost anywhere. Watching the videos on an HDTV is amazing. The detail will knock your socks off. The onboard 32GB flash memory holds over 2 hours on the highest resolution and plenty more on lower resolutions plus you can add an additional video SD card for more storage. This is the most amazing video camera I have ever seen/owned.
before this camera I used 3CCD Panasonic PV-GS300 cameras. This camera is much better. The lens is huge by comparison and the picture is in HD. The low light level is much better too. There may be some issues with this camera, but I haven't found them yet. Well, except for the microphones on the camera. They could be better; this doesnt matter much to me though because I am using the external output into a condenser mic of my own. Also, Having manual focus on this camera is very nice. So, this camera is perfect for me.
The Canon VIXIA HF S10 Video Camera I just bought on eBay is fantastic. It shoots the highest quality video available outside of professional equipment. I am very pleased with it and would highly recommend this camera to anyone. It doesn't get any better.
